Executive Director of Zunker Games, Danielle Martin, explains the games’ inspiration: “Since the early 1950s, my family has celebrated Christmas each year with a gift exchange game. My grandfather, Otto Zunker, made the dice used to play the game. He wanted us to spend time together and share in the Christmas spirit. A few years ago, I was hosting a Christmas party but the dots on the dice that Grandpa Zunker had made for me in his workshop were getting too old and worn to see anymore. I decided to make a new set of dice for my family as a tribute to my Grandpa Zunker. My friends were so impressed with Grandpa Zunker’s gift exchange dice game that they begged me to make some so they could play the game with their friends and family. The requests for what they called “Zunker Dice” never stopped and led me to create versions of the game people of all ages can play for almost any occasion.” | Executive Director of Zunker Games, Danielle Martin, explains the games’ inspiration: “Since the early 1950s, my family has celebrated Christmas each year with a gift exchange game. Zunker, Inc. was launched in Clearwater, Florida during 2007 and now has added a location in Smyrna, Georgia. The requests for what they called “Zunker Dice” never stopped and led me to create versions of the game people of all ages can play for almost any occasion.”
Each Zunker Gift Exchange Game comes in an 8.5” x 8.5” x 11” box with a handle for easy transportation between events. The box includes everything needed to play the game: the decorative Zunker playmat which also helps remind players of the game’s simple instructions, two large, durable, specially designed Zunker Dice, and a timer. Each game sells for $24.99.
Playing a Zunker Gift Exchange Game is a great way to save money. Are you getting trapped into buying too many gifts for distant family members, the neighbors down the street, and people in your office? Playing Zunker with your family, friends, and co-workers keeps costs low while providing a new and more exciting party experience. It’s even fun to bring a few "re-gifts" from the back of your closet to get everyone laughing. The Zunker experience will allow participants to share in the joy of gift giving (and receiving) without selling the farm.
Inspired by family, Martin says “I know that Grandpa Zunker will smile when the joy of his game spreads to other families, friends, and co-workers.” Our goal at Zunker Games is to bring people together to create unforgettable memories.
