Hi {{{1}}}, thank you for setting up a User account at Centiare. By taking the steps to become a member, you're really getting an insider's view of a new and exciting Internet property. Imagine if you were one of the first 50 users of MySpace, or of Wikipedia! Centiare was set up to utilize the fantastic MediaWiki collaboration and editing tool for both personal and commercial directory content.

What makes Centiare different? Well, we've added all sorts of interesting extensions and modifications to increase functionality, not the least being:

• Protected user-owned Directory pages (no more admins or vandals messing with "your" space), and;
• Semantic tagging capabilities (making possible amazing searches of the entire database).

Even if you don't want to create a Directory listing yet, you can remain anonymous and still use some cool features like the following "Infobox_Personal" on your own User page. To get the infobox to look like this...

To see some of the most handy Infoboxes (which can help you find new friends -- or customers -- on Centiare), take a look at the "sample" User named Snerfling. Click the "edit" tab at the top of his page, then copy and paste his information to either your personal Directory or User space, then replace the information as necessary. Since all fields are optional, you can delete them to suit your preference. However, please note that the semantic tags (those attributes that take the form of "Attribute_Name:=") actually allow other Centiare Users to search and find you by the information you choose to provide. (Note: those semantic tags will also do wonders for boosting your content on Google search results!)

Various founding Users will be happy to walk you through some of the basic elements if you're interested -- not the least being your (or your company's) own Directory listing.
