Boarding school
A boarding school is a residential private school where students are provided meals and lodging. Students live in residence halls or dormitories on the school's property. The living areas are managed by adult members of the school's staff who may be called "houseparents" or "dormitory faculty". These staff may also be teaching faculty. Students at a boarding school will typically eat their meals in a communal dining hall.
Typically, boarding school students follow a more structured schedule, where classes, meals, athletics, study hall, extracurricular activities, and leisure time are laid out. Residence life is an important component of the boarding school experience. Living away from home and coping with more dynamic environments and social interaction can give many children a stronger sense of independence and more confidence.
