DJ River (River Edén), born in 1979 in Falun, a small town in northern Sweden, is a mixer who spins Ambient, Chillout, Lounge, House, Progressive, Chill house, Deep house, Trance, and Psychedelic music. He has released several mixes since his debut. His mixes are frequently played by online radio stations such as Digitally Imported (DI.fm and Lounge-Radio.com). Recently, his work also became available through the iTunes Music Store.
Frustrated by the low-bitrate of available electronic mixes, DJ River decided to try his hand at mixing albums. His first mix, titled "Ambient Chillout Mix 1" was released by accident, when DJ River placed the mix onto a shared folder on his computer. DJ River's popularity stems from the fact that the tracks in his mixes are selected with great care, and often form a cohesive whole. His mixes are free downloads from his website—CD-length MP3 files with accompanying CUE files to separate the tracks upon burn.
