PAYjr was officially founded in August of 2004 but development started on PAYjr in September of 2001. The company started with the idea of solving the problem of today’s youth not being able to buy things online in a safe and effective manner. Once the problem was analyzed, it was realized that not only was there not safe place online for kids and teens to make purchases but there was also a lack of financial tools. Several years of sleepless nights and a million lines of code later, PAYjr is now a leader in the industry, providing the world’s first online allowance and chore management system along with innovative hands-on tools such as the PAYjr Prepaid MasterCard and PAYjr VisaBuxx Card, which are leading prepaid debit programs for teens.

April 2002 – PAYjr put on “back burner” because Venture Capital cannot be raised
