Sanibel Historical Village and Museum, 850 Dunlop Road, exhibits local artifacts and memorabilia in a 1913 Florida "cracker" house. Early photographs and documents trace the history of Sanibel from its pioneer days, while archeological finds document the prehistory of the island. A 1926 post office, a 1927 tearoom and 1927 Bailey's General Store and Gas Station have been moved to the site and restored in period. A 1926 Model T pickup truck is displayed. Open Wednesday through Saturday 10-4, Sunday noon-4, December 1 through Easter; Wednesday through Saturday 10-4, day after Easter through late August and mid-October, through November 30.
